Ones To Watch: Introducing Roarke New York
Being that we’re obviously obsessed with baubles and bangles around here, we were delighted when an artist friend turned us on to a new line, Roarke. As with many interesting fashion alliances these days, the girls were friends who, because of their complimentary backgrounds, decided to make a run at designing.
Mignonne Gavigan and Laetitia Stanfield debuted their first collection, “Le Marais” of gorgeous hand-beaded bib-scarf necklaces just last year. And being that we like to intro our followers to the next big thing before it’s big, we have brought their designs to you now, before Net-a-Porter gets ahold of them. Each piece is hand made, and can take up to 4 weeks to create. However, this week we have a limited selection of pieces, ready to ship at DS.

TOM BINNS: ELEGANCE & ANARCHY
It happens infrequently these days, but when it does it still delights me.. I love discovering new accessory designers. In this case, one who has actually been designing for over twenty five years- but it took me literally stumbling upon his renovated west village store to rediscover the line. I was initially drawn by some inexplicable force, but upon reading up on him, I’m not surprised why…
Tom Binns was, and remains inspired by the early twentieth century Dada movement, the main theme of which includes deliberate irrationality, anarchy, and the rejection of standard beauty and social organization. Brilliant. Pretty and precious jewelry just doesn’t appeal to me, but I do love a good mixture of beauty and evil.

Ready, Set, Get Happy. PANTONE’S COLOR PICKS: SPRING 2011
[Via WWD]
Here, the top 6 color picks from designers for next season. Do they make you feel like you’re going on safari in Africa? Or jet-setting in India or Peru? Well they’re supposed to.. it’s all about escapism, yo. Honeysuckle topped the charts for the season’s leading color for women, followed by Regatta, Coral Rose and Beeswax.
See the full chart (1-10) here.

And Speaking of World Domination.. VOGUE.com is live!
It seems weird to think that it didn’t exist before now, but it’s true. You’ve seen content like this from Style.com (Conde’s previous answer to Vogue online), but now the two will go head to head. And word is the company has spared no expense to watch the two square off.

Just in time for fashion week! EEK! : )
Trends of Fashion Month
Suno lips
I’m not too crazy about Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty’s last Suno collection, but props for picking a good make up artist at least. These lips are done by using an eyebrow pencil over well moisturised lips (BUT NOT GLOSSY; maybe like Blistex or something). It gives it a nice matte look, don’t you think?
