Rodarte’s Couture collection

       [via]

I have to admit I am quite impressed by the Mulleavy sisters

who cite Italian artworks

[specifically Fra Angelico’s frescoes from the Convent of San Marco and Bernini’s The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa]

as their inspiration.

The dresses will be donated to LACMA after they make their round at Pitti W.

Can’t wait to see these in person.

I LOVE this.  I had an aversion to gold (and really any warm colors) for about the last 20 years or so and while I still can’t bring myself to do something like say wear orange, I am starting to warm up to gold.  Especally with black and especally when it comes hand beaded from Chanel.
Also, when I mentioned that feathers were not a new trend for fall and had been around for a while this is a good example.  They’ve trickled down from couture, to designer, to mainstream.  If you ever want to be a really good trend forecaster, look at the Couture runways.  This spring/summer look was from four years ago and sheer and feathers are some of the biggest looks this season.
