REALITY BYTES: I WANT A JOB IN FASHION!
Welcome to our first post in a series following our newest intern, Sarah Pottharst around NYC. Sarah is a recent grad, with the right credentials who is dying to work in fashion. How hard can it be? We’ll find out first hand as we follow her from interview to interview, and everything in between for the next 30 grueling days.
On a plane headed for the big apple as we speak, the next post you read will be from her: Week 1. All the best to you Sarah.. hopefully you encounter more “Whitneys” than “Olivias” on your journey, and may the fashion force be with you!
If you are interested in interviewing Sarah, and/or being featured for this column please contact press@designersocial.com.

“The Canyon” by Jerry D. Drew, circa 1922.
There was no further description for this photo, but the pointed building looks like the Woolworth Building, which would place this photo in Lower Manhattan, New York City, on Broadway looking uptown.
In fact, it would’ve had to have been photographed right about here, at the north end of Bowling Green, where the then-existing streetcar tracks of the Broadway Line would’ve curved, just like in the photo.
Lady Gaga Poses as Lady Liberty With Marc Jacobs for V Magazine
In celebration of its New York Issue, V magazine chose two very fashionable NYC-bred talents — Lady Gaga and Marc Jacobs — to grace its vibrant September cover.
Pretty unsurprisingly, Gaga, dressed as a disheveled Statue of Liberty, appears in hardly anything aside from a lacy black bra and matching Calvin Klein panties with a beautiful buff-colored Louis Vuitton evening gown falling around her hips.Full story on StyleList here.
